Does homeowner's insurance cover roof replacement in Illinois?
Most Illinois homeowner's policies cover roof damage from hail, wind, and falling debris — but not normal wear and age. Summit provides photo documentation and a written damage assessment that insurance adjusters accept. We work directly with all major carriers and handle the paperwork.
How long does a full roof replacement take?
A typical 1,500–2,500 sq ft residential roof takes one to two days. We do the full tear-off and replacement in one continuous job — no multi-week gaps. You'll have a watertight roof before we leave.
What roofing shingles do you recommend?
For Central Illinois weather, we typically recommend GAF Timberline HDZ or CertainTeed Landmark series — both Class 4 impact-resistant shingles that can qualify for an insurance discount. We're a certified installer for both manufacturers, which gives you extended warranty coverage.
How soon after a storm should I have my roof inspected?
Within 30–60 days of a significant hail or wind event. Most policies have a claim window of 1–2 years, but waiting too long can complicate the claim. We offer free post-storm inspections with no obligation.
